SERIES A – PARENTING, WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT- 14 HRS

Session 1:
Parenting Styles
2 hours

Provides an introduction to various parenting styles emphasizing the importance of positive bonding with parents and teachers as role models.

Session 2:
Learning Styles
2 hours

Introduces various learning styles and sets the stage for positive interactions with the child and their various approaches to the learning process.

Session 3:
Decision Making
2 hours

Explores the areas of a child’s approach independent thinking and provides information and understanding of the importance of these skills.

Session 4:
Problem Solving
2 hours

Provides information on effective and successful problem solving techniques and encourages the participation and use of this information in all aspects of life.

Session 5:
Child Development
3 hours

Explores the developmental stages of children from birth through age twelve, focusing on the wide range of their speech/language, mental, physical and emotional growth. Also included are the roles that nutrition, sleep, social interaction and other environmental factors that may influence the child’s development.

Session 6:
Adolescent Development
3 hours

The transition from childhood though adolescence is explored, highlighting the importance of understanding the mental, physical and emotional changes occurring during adolescence.
